Depth of field is the distance between things and the distance that you can see. In photography you use the aperture to adjust the depth of field in the photograph. Different aperture sizes let in different amounts of light and are labeled as f/4, f/11, f/22, and etc. The bigger the number, the less light the aperture lets in, and the deeper the depth of field. The first photo has an aperture of f/4 and so you can only see whats in front of you while the background is blurry, the second photo has an aperture of f/11 making it so you can see the photo but the background is still a little blurry, and the last photo is f/22 making the entire photo basically clear and you can see every detail. |
